Kirtan

Sing. Connect. Remember.

Kirtan is a practice of devotional chanting rooted in the repetition of sacred names and mantras. Traditionally practiced through call-and-response singing, it offers a simple and powerful way to quiet the mind, open the voice and connect through sound.

Diana facilitates kirtan with harmonium, guitar, mridanga and karatals, creating a space where you can participate exactly as you are. You don’t need to know the mantras or have any previous singing experience—simply listen to the melody, join when you feel ready, and allow the chanting to unfold.

As the repetition continues, the energy of the group naturally builds. What begins quietly can move into rhythm, movement, joy and celebration, while always returning to presence and connection.

For Diana, kirtan is less about how the voice sounds and more about using the voice as a tool to glorify the name of God, it is a prayer, an individual as well as collective. The practice can be an opportunity to cultivate and experience qualities such as love, courage, compassion, gratitude and joy, while remembering our connection with ourselves, one another and something greater than ourselves.

You are welcome to sing, dance, sit quietly, meditate, listen or simply be part of the gathering.

No experience required. All voices welcome.
